Will the Olympics bring jobs to Hackney?

The Olympics is coming to London in three years time. Athletes are preparing well but are the people of London ready? What kind of jobs will the Olympics provide for Hackney and how do people feel about the Olympics?

Some members of the public were not enthusiastic at all and were worried about how much it will cost, while others were looking forward to finding new jobs. Plenty of people want more jobs because due to the recession the number of jobs in the UK is decreasing. It is therefore good that there would be more jobs for more people.

There is violence on the streets of Hackney and this is sometimes unthinkingly put down to issues of race. But is that really true?

The public think that the government are arranging things to quickly and the public do not get any say in the making. From our voxpops we found that overall the public are against the Olympics unlike the government.
