How do the people of Hackney feel about demonstrations? Are petitions affective in getting things changed for the better?

We asked people on the streets of Hackney. One lady said that she had signed a petition for Cancer Research and given a pound or two, so that was affective. Mr McCrea, a teacher at Haggerston School signed a petition against a shopping centre but it was built anyway, so it was not effective.

If I felt really strongly about something, I would definitely do a petition to get my point across

We think petitions are good because they get peopleÕs point of view out and could make a big change in other people's lives. So what do you think about petitions?
