Recently we have noticed that the news has carried reports of rioting in various parts of the world.

We wondered whether this form of demonstration worked or not. We went out onto the streets of Hackney to find out.

We did a number of voxpops with local people and wanted to see how rioting affected the young in particular. We even stopped a celebrity, Sadie Pickering who plays Flick in 'Waterloo Road'! We asked her what she thought about the subject.

Person on the street - Hackney

People take part in riots for their own reasons. They often have no other choice to show their feelings although they can cause lots of trouble and violence.
