91 people are killed and seriously injured every day on the roads, and more than a third are under 25, according to the national road safety charity Brake. Do you think wearing headphones and texting while crossing the road causes more accidents? |

Many young people wear headphones walking along the streets, not looking when they are about to cross roads. This causes lots of accidents involving the traffic. It is also dangerous to text while walking along the pavements. You might not see oncoming traffic if a side road is in front of you. |

There are two options that we can ask young teenagers to do. One is to ask them to take off the headphones when crossing the road, however most teenagers would ignore that advice. So more realistic advice is to keep their music low so they can hear what is going on around them. |

Young people learn about road safety in schools; however, the government needs to make the advice they are giving us more up to date - with new technology comes new dangers. |
