Since 2005 Hackney council decided that Dalston needs regenerating because many things needed to be replaced or repaired.
One of the many things that need to be changed is the bulidings because most of them are old and a few were firebombed and the structure of some is affecting the neighbouring buidlings.

Also they are now buliding a new train station called The East London Line. This extention is being built and will be finished in 2010 providing new tube station connections, a new Dalston Junction station and new rail links.

They are planning to build cafes, resturants, libraries, shops and much, much more. They are doing this to make Dalston more attractive to businesses so that people can invest. They are going to build over 500 new homes so then Dalston will be a nicer envronment to live in. They are also planning to make the buildings more green and environmentally friendly.

Regenerating Dalston?

So there you have it ,do you agree with what they are planning to carry out in Dalston?
