How people view Muslims

How do the people of Hackney respond to the question 'What does the word Muslim mean to you?'

'With caution', is the answer. People don't seem to want to talk about the issue for fear of being branded somehow intolerant.

The Media is full of reports about anti-Muslim feeling in the country, but does it exist in a culturally diverse borough such as Hackney, where people of all races, ethnicities and religions live (on the whole) harmoniously side by side.

When I think of a Muslim person I think of somebody who is religious; somebody who prays many times a day; somebody who might have made Hajj.
