When the London 2012 Olympic logo was unveiled to the public a year ago it caused some controversy. One year on we decided to investigate what people of Hackney think of it. Is it good? Is it bad? Was it worth the money?

The people we talked to had mixed feelings about the 2012 logo. Some people thought it was youthful and vibrant, others thought it was boring and didn't know what it was when they looked it.

It represents, for me, the youth in that they could have gone down a very traditional line and gone with something very typical but they've really gone for something which will hopefully relate to the youth and young people.

I don't have the faintest idea [what it is supposed to represent].

It's obviously a very modern logo. It looks a bit like grafitti: I don't know if that's intentional.

Dianne Abbott MP - Hackney North and Stoke Newington

We did a survey in our class and found that most students didn't like the logo and didn't know what it was supposed to represent.

I don't think much of it to be honest. I don't think it gets the message across. You can hardly tell what it is when you first look at it.
