Who will bear the tax burden

In 2012 the Olympics are coming to London which will mean an increase in taxes in the country.

The money being spent on the Olympics should be spent on things like sports centres and children's centres.

Some people think that the money would be better spent on housing, health care, schools and facilities for young people.

However, there are people who think the Olympics will bring prosperity to the area including more jobs and better housing.

Taxpayers all over the country will contribute towards the Olympics but I think, certainly here in Hackney, that we will get more out of the Olympics than we put in.

So in an area like Hackney, one of the poorest in the UK, should this money be spent on the olympics, or on health care and education?
