In 2005 the Government launched the 'Life in the UK Test' |

This test is designed to assess knowledge about British Government structure, society and practical issues and potential citizens must answer at least 75% of the questions accurately to pass. |

In the event that a candidate is unsuccessful at the first attempt, they are allowed to retake the test until they pass. The test costs £34 and takes 45 minutes. |

The 'Life in the UK Test' is now a part of British law. If you are an Immigrant and wish to gain status as a British Citizen, you must take the test or you will not get citizenship. We asked the public for their views and tried out some questions from the test on them. |
