This report is about Britishness and whether immigrants should be forced to learn English in order to become British citizens. People hold different views on this. Some people think immigrants should learn English but should not be forced. Others feel that there is no point in coming to live in a country where you don't know the language.

We interviewed Diane Abbott, MP, about her views. She was asked about links between immigration, community service, benefits and learning English. Ms Abbott feels that immigrants have made significant contributions to British society and that this should be taken into account when discussing British citizenship.

Immigrants have made a huge contribution to Britain in a place like Hackney, Jews, blacks, Muslims. Immigrants have made a huge contribution to building it up, and London as a whole. So we need to be more positive about immigrants and not think about ways to punish them.

It's wrong to have the negative approach to immigrants. The proposals to say that people should have to do community work are wrong.

The report also asks people for their views on Britishness and what makes you British. There is a range of opinions from different people.

There is also a comparison between an English and South Asian product.
