Leona Lewis burst onto the music scene in 2006. Born and raised in Hackney, was her background responsible for her musical talent? How much does a borough like Hackney inspire creativity? We made it our job to find out. |

Our group went out onto the streets of Hackney and interviewed the public not find out what they thought. Some seemed to think hackney had a lot of talented people living here but some disagreed. Many people were excited that Leona had done so well and were happy to discuss it with us. |

We came to the conclusion that artists are lucky to come from Hackney and that young people should be given more creative opportunities to show their talents here. |

They've got a lot of music courses for young children, like doing producing and making music, so I think music has developed quite considerably.
