Drama KS3 and KS4:

Outline
Speaking and interpreting Shakespeare's texts

Students will produce a web site on a particular play. Each web page will feature one scene. This scene will be performed by students a number of times highlighting the characters' motivation in performing it in that way. Students will be asked to consider the context of the scene, the feelings of the characters, the alternative interpretations of the scene and an analysis of what in the text supports that motivation. Students will video their performances and add these to the web pages offering the viewer a choice of interpretations of the text. Other aspects, such as characters' thoughts and feelings can be presented as additional videos, audio clips or text. The original text of the speeches can also be reproduced.
